Abandoned Kitten Sponsored by TAG
Mosie is being sponsored by TAG. Someone left her at the register at a local pet store when she was about 2 weeks old. Luckily, she was brought to a foster mommy! She is doing wonderfully! Those bright eyes steal your heart. She is still drinking from a bottle so she is not ready for adoption yet. She still fits in your hand. She is feisty and is determined to live. Mosie is already using a litter box. She is a very smart little girl.

Relocating the Koi
Billy and Helen Clayton donated their 7 magnificent footlong Butterfly Koi to Carriage Hills Veterinarian Hospital along with two algae eating Koi. The Clayton's are long time members of Dalraida United Methodist Church and are undergoing a move to be nearer a son in Birmingham as they see the years progress. They of course could not collocate their 'babies' to their new independent living facility.
Joining the Transport and Rehoming the Koi TAG Team were of course Billy Clayton, his brother Pat, John, Mary and Dawn Wilson and Melanie May. This was a huge undertaking and took nearly two hours which was much less than it would have taken if Billy had not prepared for us. Placement of these beautiful fish is thanks to Richard Koerner who placed the call to Carriage Hills Vet Hospital and the generosity of the hospital in its acceptance. Thank you to Richard and the entire hospital who gave us somewhere to call home for the Clayton's Butterfly Koi.
A wellness call this afternoon to CHVH found Danielle who said all was well. YAY!
Thank you Billy, Pat and John for the very heavy lifting and to Mary, Dawn and Melanie for helping as needed with the transport. Thank you especially to the Wilson's donation of their van to use so we could minimize the stress on the Koi.

Injured Mother Dog and Pups Rescued (Information reported by Richard Koerner, TAG Vice President)
This mom (pictured below) and her four "rolley polly" babies along with another older pup (not pictured) from a previous litter, were recently rescued by Lori Crews Mathews, Laura Baumgarder and some other folks, from of all places, North Decatur Street, right next to a "crack house". This is one of the worst sections of Montgomery. Two of the smaller pups have been adopted and the other two are going to rescue in Mass. The older pup is being fostered. Mom needs a home. The sweet, brave mom had a badly mangled rear leg but it did not prevent her from caring for her babies. Her leg was amputated yesterday along with sterilization surgery and she is doing fine. It was a last resort but necessary. Way to go Lori and crew! Thanks also to TAG (That Animal Group) for donating to the vet care. If you would like to contribute, contact Golden Animal Hospital at Eastchase. The account is under the name of Laura Baumgardner.
